Last year, a group called Campaign for Safe
Cosmetics launched a program to warn consumers that several popular
children's bath products contain a cancer-causing petrochemical with the
cumbersome name of 1,4-Dioxane. This chemical is considered a probable
human carcinogen and a proven animal carcinogen.
The Campaign for Safe Cosmetics warns that ingredients such as sodium
myreth sulfate, PEG compounds and chemicals that include the clauses "xynol,"
"ceteareth" and "oleth" may be contaminated with 1,4-dioxane.
You can check cosmetic labels to see if they contain any of these
ingredients and other worrisome chemicals (including formaldehyde and
sodium laureth sulfate), but here's the kicker: Neither the FDA nor any
other agency requires cosmetic companies to fully list the contents of
their products.
Campaign for Safe Cosmetics (safecosmetics.org), Chemical Safe Skincare
(ChemicalSafeSkincare.co.uk), and other consumer groups are currently
waging campaigns that call for the ban of certain ingredients and a
requirement that all cosmetic products carry accurate ingredients
labels.

A Harvard study compared vitamin D levels in 900
men with no history of heart ailments and about 450 men with a history
of heart attack or heart disease. Results showed a clear link between
vitamin D deficiency and heart attack risk. In fact, the data revealed
that heart attack risk might be cut in half when low D levels are
doubled.
A new study from Germany confirms their findings.
Researchers at the University of Heidelberg measured D levels in more
than 3,000 patients who underwent coronary angiography to examine blood
flow in the heart.
When the Heidelberg team examined nearly eight years of follow-up health
records for each patient, they found that risk of death due to heart
failure was three times higher among those with the lowest levels of
vitamin D, and risk of sudden cardiac death was even higher.

Pay Attention Women!
Published November 2008 in the
journal Archives of Internal Medicine, followed a group of almost 110,000
Norwegian women who underwent periodic mammographic screening for breast cancer
over a five-year period between 1992 and 1997, and compared these women with a
second, matched group of women who did not undergo regular routine breast cancer
screening during the same period. Surprisingly, the women who underwent regular
screening had 22 percent more invasive breast cancers than those who did not (Zahl,
2008).
LENA'S COMMENT: I've advised against mammograms for many years
now. The above report is another reason not to have routine mammograms... Can
you imagine what the results will be in after ten or twenty years, if they are that bad
after only five years? My reason against mammograms is because in my twenty
years working in medical offices - one medial group consisted of 41 Women's Health
Centers that did hundreds of mammograms weekly - only one woman was ever
diagnosed with breast cancer as a result of those mammograms in all the time I
worked there. Those are severely bad statistics. Hundreds were diagnosed with breast
cancer but only the one diagnosed as a result of her mammogram but she failed to
do
self exams, so it stands to reason... ALL the others detected their own
abnormalities with monthly breast exams and then were confirmed with either MRI
or Ultrasound. Most of those women diagnosed with breast cancer had had routine
mammograms - some only a few months or weeks before discovering their lumps - yet were not
detected on those mammograms... Also dozens of women underwent unnecessary surgeries
because of false positive mammograms, but because of the great brain washing
done by our conventional medical world were made to think that it was "Better to
be safe then sorry" for having those unnecessary surgeries... I was one of those
that had two unnecessary lumpectomy surgeries - I was still in the brain washed
category like the majority - and if I had seen my mammograms before surgery I
would not have allowed either one of them. I then stopped having mammograms and have
not had one since 1989. I do self breast exams every month and know what lumps
are there so that if one should become larger I would have it examined...

Food Developed By Man
This unique fruit Pluot (pl-ot) is a registered trademark name for
varieties of plum or Plumcot developed in the late 20th century by Floyd
Zaiger. In the United States, the fruit is known by most regulatory
agencies as a Plumcot. It is a complex cross hybrid of plum and apricot,
exhibiting more plum-like traits. The pluot, like the aprium, is derived
from plums, apricots and or hybrids called the plumcot.
The fruit's exterior with smooth skin closely resembles a plum's. Pluots
are noted for their sweetness (due to a very high sugar content), their
intense flavor, and very juicy pulp. The pluot is often confused with
the aprium which is another plum and apricot hybrid with mostly apricot
heritage. Like apricots, apriums have slightly fuzzy skin. Pluots and
apriums are known for their sweetness and flavor; the sugar content of
these fruits is much higher than that of a plum or apricot alone.
A very sweet , medium-sized, flat round dark-purple fruit with red
flesh. Available end of May through first weeks of June. California
pluots are sold during the summer and fall. Approximately 20 varieties
of pluots have been developed and bred by Zaiger Genetics. Each variety
contains a different percentage of plum and apricot parentage. These
varieties vary in size, skin color, and flesh color. The skin can be
solid, striped, or speckled and skin colors range from yellow-green to
black. Pluot flesh ranges from white to red in color.
There is only one variety of aprium currently on the market. The Honey
Rich interspecific is bright orange and has bright orange flesh.
Pluots are also rich in vitamin A, which is a vitamin that makes for
very healthy skin. At this time more studies are needed to determine the
exact nutrient content, but since it comes from both the plum and the
apricot must harbor a multitude of healthy nutrients.
Pluots and apriums should be ripened at room temperature and then
refrigerated. Pluots can be ripened in a brown paper bag at room
temperature.
Preparation
Fruit should be washed well and dried before consumption. To remove pit,
cut the fruit in half. Pluots and apriums can be eaten fresh or cooked.
Confetti plum (pluot)-pasta salad
Makes 6 servings
Each serving equals 1/2 cup of fruit or vegetables

Ingredients
8 ounces corkscrew pasta
1/2 medium red bell pepper, cut into strips
3/4 cup peeled and diced jicama
1/2 cup chopped red onion
8 pluots, sliced
2 Tbsp diced pimento
1 tsp finely grated fresh ginger
3 Tbsp rice or white wine vinegar
1 Tbsp vegetable oil
1/8 tsp salt
1/8 tsp freshly ground black pepper
Cook the pasta according to the package directions. Drain. Rinse briefly
under cold water and drain. In a large bowl, toss together the pasta,
red and yellow bell peppers, jicama, onion, and pluots.
In a small bowl, whisk together all the basil, pimento, ginger, vinegar,
oil, salt, and pepper until blended. Drizzle the dressing over the salad
and toss evenly until coated.
Enjoy this new fruit and expect better health because of it!

Disorder Headline Jumped Out At Me!

The headline 1 in 5 Young Adults Has Personality Disorder
jumped out at me like a snake that I had stepped on. Nay Sayers who
stick their heads in the sand will say those figures are an
exaggeration and incorrect. Who is correct?
I can say from my point of view and observations of health
issues that the headline is sadly correct! Not only young adults
have brain problems but younger children are more angry and
antisocial than ever before. Why is that?
The healthy
brain ideally is a world of electrical impulses giving signals
to the rest of the body's organs/systems to work. When
those electrical impulses are interrupted or incomplete
personality disorder and other illness and disease happens since
the signals can't get to the rest of the body.
Anemia, cancer and other severe illnesses and disease rage
around us and now we have to live with the next generation and
their inability to cope or reason properly. Sad state of affairs for our world!
This is just a tip of the "iceberg" on our way to incompetence
in all areas of our future world leaders!
Exactly what happened to bring us to a world of personality
disorders and so much illness and disease?
The brain - where all disorders begin - requires certain things
to function and complete the electrical impulses that make for a
healthy mind and body. Are these young people getting them? A
malnourished brain cannot work as it should! How did so many become
so malnourished?
Not only illness and diseases of different parts of the body but
also Alzheimer's, dementia and mental illness are running
rampant! Why?
Beginning in childhood, noted in the
1930's then worsened in the 1950's, our brain has had to
work against odds to even develop nearly normal... We have
gradually become a world where it now seems that one-third of
the population is incompetent brain functioning people. Why?
The brain
requires a complete balance of minerals and trace minerals to
function in totality. Are we getting those needs? Not unless you
are supplementing balanced minerals. The body does not
manufacture minerals even when given proper foods, it cannot
even utilize what few vitamins you take into the body by way of
foods without the balance of minerals. On top of that our world of fast and prepackaged
processed foods contain so little nutrients as to be totally
dead foods. Added to that are the multitude of medications
prescribed or over-the-counter taken that also deplete the body of a large
number of those same nutrients further making brain death or
inability to function more likely.
Those happenings bring about malnourishment, obesity and mental
incompetence! Not even realizing it's happening as parents are working hard to support
the family and
therefore fast food and prepackaged processed foods become the
norm, robbing children of nutrients needed to nourish the brain
toward a healthy mind... Then doctors, unknowingly or not,
prescribe medications that further deplete or
parents go into the store to get over-the-counter medication for
some small problem in the child, further depleting the body of
needed nutrients so how can we expect them to
grow into healthy adults?
The medical world has classified mental health problems as a chemical
imbalance. When those chemicals are listed you find them to be
minerals reclassified as chemicals in the conventional medical world. Are
you putting ALL of them into your brain or are you putting in
the three nutrients that are in your fruits, grains and
vegetables gleaned from fertilizers? Are you putting in all the
chemicals and hormones fed our animals to fatten them and make
them worth more dollars? It now takes more than our foods to
provide our brain the nourishment required to function properly!
The Merry-go-round Of Depletion Began
After World War II the farmers were convinced that the new
fertilizers would produce more and better crops than the natural
(manure) fertilizers they had used up to that time along with
crop rotation, which then stopped as well. Gradually the natural
(manure) and crop rotation was discarded, taking with them what
few nutrients remained and needed for growing fruits, veggies, &
grains to supply us with a complete nutrient base. Up until then
the plant, through the magic of Chlorophyll and photosynthesis,
would take the vitamins and minerals from the ground and
transform them into digestible, usable ionic minerals. With
those changes and because of such a mineral depletion in the
ground we are unable to get the needed nutrition in the form of
food. Chemical manmade fertilizers have all of three (3)
nutrients, nitrogen, potassium and phosphorus. What happened to
the other 81 that our body requires?
That action also set up a chain reaction with our food Animals
as well. The feed they are fed now had only those three
nutrients absorbed from the fertilizers. Then add the chemicals
and hormones, which are added to fatten them, therefore prevent
the natural (manure) fertilizers from containing the nutrients
of old! Setting up a vicious cycle! There are some nutrients
added to the animal feed to try and overcome those deficiencies
but fall way short with only 7 to 23 minerals and vitamins, not
the complete 84 as required by our bodies. On top of that fact
then when we eat those chemicalized animals our body is not only
deprived of the balance of minerals but then puts chemicals and
hormones into us that further rob us of those necessary minerals
and killing cells of life. Sadly only about 1% of people are
supplementing the necessary balance of minerals, which is the
only way of getting them into the body these days.
Then the
genetically modification began putting animal genes into fruits
and vegetables without adding vitamins or minerals and weakening
the nutrients again. Then colorful foods became fad with color
additives that create havoc in the brain. After that we have
pasteurization, homogenizing and radiating our foods to further
remove nutrients. So how can we expect anything less than those
headlines?
Can that be changed?
Yes,
I have watched personality disorders turned around with simple
balanced supplements since 1995 - it was happening before 1995
but I was not into the mix to watch it then. Not only
Personality Disorders - but a multitude of illnesses and
diseases that people had given up on ever seeing improve -
cannot believe what that simple addition to their life did for
them.
If you could be a fly on my office wall and listen to people who have
changed their brain and health you would understand why I know
those headlines could be changed... Weekly I have people call me
and tell me they cannot believe the difference in their lives
after starting to supplement balanced minerals. Sometimes it
requires added herbs but a large number see total turn around of

Don't let your brain suffer! Do the smart thing and get a
